Why most TikTok Shop fee calculators get the Philippines wrong

July 25, 2026 · PH rates checked against Seller University the same day

Google "TikTok Shop fee calculator" and most tools you'll find run the US formula: a flat referral fee around 6%, a 2.18% payment fee, $0.30 per order. Plug in a PH order and you get a number — a wrong one. The Philippines doesn't use the US fee structure at all.

What PH actually charges

Five separate fees per delivered order, each with its own base and rules: commission by category (5.00–7.30% marketplace), transaction fee 2.24%, shipping service fee 5.5% capped at ₱100 per item, ₱5 order processing (₱3 on promo), and since April 2026 a seller growth fee of 1–1.5%. A ₱1,000 fashion order costs about ₱165 in fees, or 16.5%. The US formula would tell you roughly 8.5%. Price off that number and half your margin math is fiction.

Why the gap keeps growing

PH fees changed three times in the last nine months: the growth fee arrived in April, the processing fee promo started in December, and on July 23, 2026 the transaction fee base changed to include customer-paid shipping. A calculator that isn't tracking Seller University PH specifically has no way to keep up — US rates didn't move once in that time.

How to check any calculator

Ask three questions. Does it let you pick a PH product category (rates differ by category here, unlike the flat US referral fee)? Does it show a "rates checked" date? Does its per-order fee say pesos, not dollars? If any answer is no, it's a US tool with a peso sign taped on.

Ours shows its work: the PH calculator lists each fee with its formula, and the rate table links back to the official source. When TikTok changes something, the "checked" date tells you how fresh the numbers are.
